INFOGRAPHIC: Ultra High Net Worth Population in U.S. by State

With the number of UHNWI (defined as having a net worth of $30 million or more) across the world growing each year, this is one of the most fascinating albeit highly elusive target audiences. California has the highest UHNW population by far with 12,560 individuals. New York, not surprisingly, is second in line.

The Top 10 states for UHNW population are:

  1. California (12,560)
  2. New York (8,945)
  3. Texas (6,285)
  4. Florida (4,215)
  5. Illinois (2,770)
  6. Michigan (1,920)
  7. Pennsylvania (1,570)
  8. Ohio (1,455)
  9. Wisconsin (1,370)
  10. Massachusetts (1,345)

California being the outlier, more UHNW individuals live east of the Mississippi than west. Lowest populations of UHNWI were in Alaska, Delaware, North Dakota, and Maine.
