FUN FACT: Globe Knitting Works got its start in the late 19th century, when a Norwegian immigrant by the name of Eilert Alfred Clements headed to Chicago to visit his former employer. When he arrived at the Princess Knitting Company, he found the building in flames, and quickly helped his friend carry out equipment. The owner sold Clements three of the machines he helped salvage, which he took back to Grand Rapids to start his own company.
