Retro Ad of the Week: Greyhound Bus, 1948

The last time I rode a Greyhound bus, I’m fairly certain that I wasn’t this relaxed. This 1948 ad for the transportation behemoth adds an interesting contrast to how we view these services today. While you can’t knock the convenience for travelers, the screaming cries of babies and claustrophobic proximity to other riders makes it hard not to wish that this was really what went down on the bus.

FUN FACT: Over 59% of intercity bus passengers will use a smartphone on their ride. Providers have caught on to this trend, frequently offering apps, complimentary wi-fi, and power outlets in every seat. Consider this statistic next time you analyze your mobile marketing strategy.
