We see photo montages all the time in travel ads, especially when it comes to theme park marketing. Sometimes in boxes, other times haphazardly spread across the page. But this retro Six Flags Over Texas ad from 1971 took a different approach, using vibrantly hued pictures blended together inside of what feels like an international icon, a likely attempt to rival the global feel that Disneyland had already mastered. Ironically, Six Flags Over Texas was established as a Texas-centric attraction and eventually became the model for regional theme parks.
