According to the Radio Corporation of America, better known as RCA, starting the year off right in 1929 meant installing a shiny new vacuum tube in your radio set. The light bulb-like glass tubes were coined by the company as “Radiotrons,” helping to “insure perfect reception in the New Year.”
Whether or not you have your Radiotron handy, we wish you good health, happiness, and perfect reception for 2014.
