If you haven’t read the recent article on the Huffington Post site about Gen Y and why they are struggling so much today, it is spot-on.

To give you a quick summary:

• Baby boomer parents instilled their kids with a strong sense of ambition.
• They also tried to make them feel special, even though they’re not.
• Those kids, now adults, feel they are entitled to a perfect lawn with flowers and a shiny unicorn on top.
• Only a handful of people get to have that.
• And that makes Gen Y folks super-sad.

Read the article. It’s funny, very insightful, and if it doesn’t give you an insight into the psychology behind Gen Y behavior, I don’t know what will.
