Some of you may have seen the recent Chevrolet ad where a man is reunited with his beloved 1965 Chevy Impala that he was forced to sell years earlier due to financial difficulties. If you were like me, you assumed that the “Chevy True Story”, while probably based on actual events, was more of a tall tale than true story. We were both wrong.
As it turns out, it was a true story and those were real people in the ad. The video, “My Dad’s Car”, is a fantastic example of a brand using online video to capture the loyalty and devotion of its consumers. It is part of an upcoming series showcasing “true stories of Chevrolet ownership,” in celebration of the brand’s 100th anniversary.
Well done, Chevy.
