Retro Halloween Ads: Old Gold Cigarettes, 1950

As brands like Camel and Lucky Strike began using doctor endorsements in their ads,  Old Gold decided to go a different route. Their main message was “Always a Treat Instead of a Treatment”. The premise was that they offered a better cigarette that was mellower and easier on the throat, and no medical claim by other cigarettes could prove otherwise. Not sure the wording of the ad gets that across so clearly, but an interesting approach nonetheless.
