As we know from my previous post, I am a fan of infographics. So when I came across the article Everything That Happens on the Internet in One Day from Business Insider (graphic from MBAOnline.com) I fell in love.
Not only is this a well-designed graphic, but as marketers we can use it to gather a little quick information about where people are and what they are doing online. The most intriguing piece to me is the amount of time spent on and interaction with Facebook. I was not at all surprised by this, but it does help to prove the point that as a business you should try to have some sort of presence there.
In my mind the best way of accomplishing this is to create a page either directly for your business or a relevant social aspect of your business to showcase to your customers. I place the importance of pages above actual Facebook ads in terms of effectiveness, but if you are thinking about doing a Facebook ad, make sure you have a solid strategy.
